JL – This was my “yellow period”. When Tatjana asked me if I was tempted to use other colours besides yellow, I replied that I see other colours embedded in yellow.
Just as I see chords as colours in music, I can also see a palette of other colours in one colour on the canvas.

JL – When a colleague of mine (a specialist in material sciences) saw this painting, she asked me what it represented. I said it could be a bird. “I don’t think you’re serious,” she said, laughing out loud. That’s how I came up with the title.
